STACEY WATT
MD, MBA, MHPE, FASA
My name is Stacey Watt, and I currently live in Western New York. And yes — before you ask — I’m proudly a Buffalo Bills, Sabres, and Bandits fan. I’m deeply connected to my community, serving on our local Chamber of Commerce and actively leading with a servant’s heart in my hometown. Giving back is important to me — especially to the people and places that supported me in my early journey.
That journey began on the athletic fields. In high school, I was a three-sport athlete, but it was in the discus ring that I found my passion. Thanks to supportive parents, dedicated coaches (even those outside my school district), and a relentless drive to master my craft, I rose to become the top-ranked high school female discus thrower in the United States.
After high school, I earned a full athletic scholarship to college, competing in the throws events. My time as a collegiate athlete taught me discipline, resilience, and how to balance excellence in sport with success in academics. I became a two-time NCAA All-American and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Microbiology and Chemistry.
But my path didn’t stop there.
A family illness opened my eyes to the world of medicine. After college, I went on to medical school, then completed residency and fellowship training, earning double board certification. Today, I’m a pediatric anesthesiologist — a role I love — where I have the privilege of helping patients and families through some of their most challenging moments.
As I advanced in my medical career, I discovered a calling beyond the bedside. I wanted to influence healthcare systems, shape organizations, and make a meaningful impact at the local, regional, and national levels. I pursued additional education and leadership training, ultimately earning advanced degrees to strengthen my expertise, sharpen my vision, and step into leadership with confidence and purpose.
I’ve been married for over 20 years, and we have two teenagers who keep us on our toes — and constantly growing. We also share our home with two wonderful dogs who complete our family.
